Donnie Darko 2: Don’t Even Think About It
Apparently there is going to be a sequel to Donnie Darko… before you get too excited about it, know these things:
- Original director Richard Kelly has nothing to do with it (that alone should make Donnie Darko fans run screaming)
- The storyline revolves around little sister Samantha Darko taking a road trip and having flashbacks (that just sounds really lame to me)
- Why… why in the name of the heavens try to make a sequel to one of the finest movies out there?? To make money off of the large cult following? A fan paying homage? Who knows, but whether the intentions are good or not, I’ll be steering clear of this movie.
I remember hearing about this film but didn’t realize it’d actually happened: it was released direct to DVD in May. Doesn’t seem I missed much, as it has a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Of course, that hasn’t stopped the producer from talking about a second sequel…
Haha, oh wow, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a zero on there.
A second sequel?!? Wonderful…
