Filmix
I’ve just created a new theme that highlights content with wide, open space and subtle use of color amidst black & silver.
Introducing Filmix:
It supports gravatars, is widget-ready, Adsense-ready, dark, modern, clean, and released under the GPL license.

How can i help?
love this theme. thanks
I love the theme filmix and teacher think its great too! We love the style of film strips and fiilm designs.
Hi,
A quick question, how do I change the hgt of the header image, I have changed the hgt of the header and the header splash in style.css to 300 and still the image cropper trims it to 1200*140?
Hi, you can change it in the functions.php file.
Many thanks, all I need now is a second sidebar to make it perfect, how about an upgrade version ver2 with an optional sidebar….client is ecstatic with new theme, but my original presentation had 2 (very full) sidebars. I tried adding a second but it refused to appear although it did so on the widget admin page
Love the theme. How do I put my logo/header in and have the title in settings without the title showing over my custom logo. I guess I mean a ‘hide title’ button? (I hope that makes sense). Thanks!
Thanks – sure, to remove the title just go into the header.php file and remove the stuff between the div id=header.
Hi, I love this theme and the colors are perfect! How can I change the overall width so it fit on one page without needing to scroll to the right?
Your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks! It does fit on some monitors – but to change that you’d have to play with the overall width in the stylesheet, and the header image, and the content width, footer width, etc.
I am impressed with your filmx theme as well, and I have looked at hundreds of themes, thanks for releasing this!
I do think it would be a bit better if there was option for pulling it to 1024 width, and 1152 width would be great or if it was possible to make it fluid that would be awesome.
I guess I will look into your css and see if I can find all the widths to adjust manually and see how bad I screw it up – lol
Thanks for designing this – it is perfect for one of my friend’s new blog projects about movie trivia.
Where do I find instructions on customizing the design/layout, or do I have to do the questions one at a time?
Since I am awaiting the moderator, let me add to my post.
I am a graphic artist, quite fluent in photoshop, indesign, etc. Is there a graphic software that I can use to open the screen and make the design changes that I want? (I know it is composed of html or xml, which I somewhat know, but I can do so much more and so much faster in the GUI).
Following Rick’s question, I too have already loaded my own custom header (took the image jpg into photoshop and made the changes and uploaded the new version), but using Fetch as my FTP program (which is supposed to allow editing), I can “veiw” the file, with all of the text, but when I try to open it in “edit” mode, it is blank. When I open the others in “edit” mode, I see all the text. Why? How do I work around that?
During development, the site is offline, but I can send you the address if you need it.
Since I am still waiting, I would like to post some other questions.
1. Your demo shows a photo at the top, with placeholder text. I want to begin my blog the same way, but image that comes up, starts with the posts. How do I implement your style?
2. I also want to insert two small boxes of type — one for a single PDF download, and one for a 5 star ranking. How can I create and place such small items?
Thanks
Gary
Hey I love your theme and it works great for my blog, but is there a quick fix to have the custom header be clickable to take you to the homepage? I know HTML and I’m an engineer and I should know, but it’s been a while since I’ve messed with HTML.
Thanks for your help!
Hi GC, I’m sorry I haven’t used Fetch before, but the majority of styling is done in the CSS file.
If you want to add the extras to the top header area, you would need to edit the header.php file.
Hope that helps a little.
