Bay View Association recently announced that CEO Mike Spencer has submitted his letter of resignation to take a leadership role with L’Arbre Croche Association, effective March 1, 2022.
“During his six years with Bay View, Mike has made tremendous strides in transforming us into a professionally managed organization. He hired our superintendent of buildings and land and director of finance; two high-level professionals who have made an exceptional contribution to the association. He did a wonderful job leading the waterfront improvement project. Mike led us through two COVID summers, working with program directors to deliver events in ways that keep us safe. He oversaw the expansion of our development activities resulting in new opportunities for donors. Plus, he did all of this while building strong relationships with our members and the surrounding community. Mike will be sadly missed by all of us, ”said Carol Norcut, President of the Bay View Association.
Spencer added that “I have treasured my time here, established what I hope will be lifelong relationships and friendships, and have grown to love this historic association more than words can describe.”
On Monday, the Bay View Association announced that Barbara Pfeil has accepted an offer to become the next Executive Director, effective December 1, 2021.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue the relevance of Bay View in programming, respect between members and guests, and recognition of the rich heritage preserved in our chalets, buildings and grounds,” said Barbara Pfeil . “As President John Quincy Adams said, ‘If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.’ Bay View Association is a place where this leadership outcome can be achieved. I’m excited to start!
Pfeil has over 25 years of professional experience, including 20 years in non-profit organizations. For five years, Pfeil has been the financial director of the association.
According to a press release from the association, as chief financial officer, Pfeil has made great strides in improving and improving systems for financial reporting, budgeting and cash flow management. As a manager, she has proven to be a leader in finance staff, post office and post collection teams. During her tenure with the association, she researched ways and areas where the experience of Bay View members and guests could be improved.
