Industry Leader in Precision and Microformed Thin Metal Components, Shimifrez Inc. Expands AS9100 Certification to Include Section 8.3 Design and Development

VAUGHAN, ON, January 4, 2022 / PRNewswire / – Shimifrez Inc. has announced that it has achieved AS9100 Section 8.3 certification for design and development ahead of its intention to introduce a series of components to redefine manufacturing protocols for the aerospace and automotive industries. Developed by SAE and IAQG, the AS9100 standard codifies quality management system requirements for companies that design, develop or manufacture aviation, space and defense products – serving as an assurance of trust and quality. A recognized world leader in design and manufacturing, Shimifrez creates precision parts in thin and thick photo-etched, electroformed sheets for a wide variety of industries, from life sciences to automotive and aerospace.

“We are extremely happy to announce this AS9100 extension,” said Hassan Nojoumi, president of Shimifrez. “We’ve been in the precision sheet metal business for a while now and we’ve definitely discovered a thing or two about manufacturing and design. We have quietly developed a range of proprietary processes and products specifically designed to effectively reduce weight and increase efficiency for the aerospace and automotive industries. The new certification will allow us to unveil and deploy these designs in the coming months, offering them as innovative solutions to a wide range of industrial problems currently being addressed.

With over 40 years of experience in micro-metal fabrication, Shimifrez’s activities in precision photochemical engraving and electroforming are already far reaching and will include the creation of essential components for hearing aids and other life science tools, satellite instrumentation and other space tools. exploration vessels, manufacture of micro-meshes / screens and creation of ultra-fine sieves. Another series of designs includes contacts for ultra-micro metal parts, shadow and spray masks, fluidic channels, reticles, shims, targets, RFI / EMI / ESD card level shields, laminate frets, heat sinks, bipolar plates, and consumer wearable tech.

Shimifrez can manufacture components in stainless steels, nickel alloys, beryllium copper, Metglas®, Hastelloy®, phosphor bronze, Kovar, Inconel®, DCB substrates and aluminum alloys – to name a few. Shimifrez also offers a rapid response service to deliver micro-components to several precision industries such as the aerospace / satellite, medical, automotive, telecommunications and micro-electronics sectors.

With current demand today for relatively thin measurements, between 0.0005 “(0.01mm) to 0.100” (3mm), intricate designs and complex metal components at an economical price, Shimifrez is able to manufacture parts. 0.01 x 0.01 “(0.25 x 0.25 mm) metal and have sizes less than 10 microns at an angle of +/- 0.5 degrees.

“Precision photochemical milling is a cost effective method for producing complex flat sheets and 3D metal parts for prototyping and high volume production,” Nojoumi explained. “Photochemical etching eliminated the cost of hard tooling and enabled a much more precise manufacturing process, without warping or burrs, and with much faster turnaround times. And we have recognized that there is a major gap in the market for precision, flexible and cost-effective thin metal components and services, as well as new cutting-edge technology and investment in advanced equipment equipment to reduce production costs, increase productivity and promote innovation. We will introduce many new products. in the very near future. “
